“The response to the film has been above and beyond what we could have imagined and it means the world when people express how much the film means to them,” Gemma Chen confessed.

She continued, “The writer David Henry Hwang said something poignant about representation: when it’s been absent most of your life, sometimes you have to see it to realize just how much you needed it. For me personally, it feels like the door is finally open to telling the stories of people who traditionally have been ignored or underrepresented or forgotten by history. We aren’t going back.”
